Job Scope
The Supply Chain Manager is accountable for overseeing and managing the company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy in addition to the daily operations of the Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics Departments maximizing process efficiency and productivity. S/He develops and maintains good relationships with vendors, identifies and manages reliable freight forwarders for logistics requirement.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Technical and Operations
- Plan, direct and coordinate the operational activities of the Logistics and Warehouse Departments within the region to ensure an efficient productivity and a proper management of teams
- Develop, propose and implement new operational strategies, processes and measures for the entire supply chain process supporting the sales team in maintaining business continuity
- Handle the distribution activity to ensure smooth deliveries to partners within the region
- Handle the insurance claims process and submit claims within the stipulated time
- Oversee compliance requirements for each vendor to local law/regulations within the assigned region
- Oversee the processing of LCs (letter of credits), initiation of transfers and final settlements
- Ensure that negotiated prices, payments and delivery terms with suppliers are processed as per agreements in place
- Negotiate with existing and potential agents on prices and services and introduce new shipping methods
- Follow up with the planning department and suppliers on all product requests and queries from order confirmation to shipping
- Optimize the volume of shipped products to prevent shortage and stock ruptures while avoiding overstock and excessive financial burden
- Submit the necessary analysis, data, figures and details needed for budget preparation
- Assess current practices and processes and conduct periodic evaluations improving customer relations and satisfaction
- Handle inventory management and stock audits at regular intervals for all warehouse facilities within the assigned region
- Identify and manage freight forwarders optimizing cost and lead time and evaluate performance on a quarterly basis
- Create and maintain contingency plans and raise critical issues accordingly
- Oversee and ensure compliance with local/international laws and Midis code of conduct
Talent Development
- Lead and coach the team cultivating empowerment and ownership
- Develop capabilities and secure a solid succession plan
- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs and oversee development plans
Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or any other related field
Experience
-
10 years of end-to-end Supply Chain experience, including a minimum of 5 years in France.
- Strong background across the full supply chain cycle, including warehousing, logistics, procurement, demand forecasting, order fulfillment, and inventory management.
- Hands-on operational experience managing warehouse activities, logistics operations, and day-to-day supply chain execution.

Experience in Managing a team, overseeing operational performance and delivery.

Regularly visiting warehouses to monitor operations, ensure SLA compliance, and meet business and customer requirements.

Conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to review performance, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Good understanding of customs clearance procedures and international logistics operations.
