Solar Project Engineer
Job Scope
The Solar Project Engineer is responsible for all engineering and technical tasks involved in a project including scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing and managing all related activities aiming at timely deliverables and client satisfaction. S/He communicates regularly with the client and oversees project teams optimizing performance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of solar photovoltaic and heating projects.
- Conduct project feasibility studies and identify client technical requirements.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, designs, drawings, reports, and project documentation.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other third parties to ensure smooth project execution.
- Review and support techno-commercial proposals, including product selection, technical design, and offer submissions in line with local authority requirements.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure designs, specifications, and approved plans are correctly implemented on site.
- Participate in installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of solar systems.
- Provide technical advice and resolve engineering and site-related issues.
- Coordinate with local authorities and support obtaining the required approvals for solar products and projects.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing team on material selection, procurement, and commercial negotiations.
- Conduct site visits, prepare technical/site reports, and participate in meetings with consultants and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health & safety, sustainability, quality, and legal requirements.
- Support new product development initiatives and maintain up-to-date technical and product knowledge through training, seminars, and industry events.
Position Requirements
- Strong experience in project engineering, technical design, and site execution.
- Good understanding of solar PV systems, installation, commissioning, and local authority requirements.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within agreed timelines and budgets.
- Strong technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any other related field
Experience
At least 3 years of relevant experience
