Job Scope

The Senior Consultant is an advanced level technology specialist and subject matter expert, Designing, Implementing & Optimizing private cloud and virtualization solutions, providing customer guidance by facilitating technical workshops, creation of low-level designs and implementation of use cases into high-quality solutions. In addition to customer facing delivery Senior Consultants also provide technical input to pre-sales and drive best practices in the form of white paper creation.
The role includes providing consultancy on data center virtualization technologies, configuring, testing, and overseeing projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VMware by Broadcom technologies (Specially VCF Technology) and a strong background in cloud infrastructure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional VMware project teams which could consist of MBCOM pre-sales architects, engineers and product management.
    Design, deploy, upgrade and migration knowledge of VCF core components (vSphere, vSAN and NSX) and VMware Cloud Management Suite (Aria Suite).
    Work as part of a wider project team or independently on consulting engagements.
    Support the services sales cycle by solutioning potential opportunities, creating Scope of Works (SOWs) and providing accurate Level of Efforts (LoE).
    Confidently gather use case requirements and creation of low-level designs while functioning as an advisory resource for “Best Practices” and driving adoption of VMware solutions.
    Develop use cases into high-quality solutions in your specialist area.
    Actively demonstrate commercial awareness and stay within the scope of the Project.
    Take ownership and accountability for individual deliverables.
    Define project requirements/issues/constraints with PMs.
    Make accurate impact assessments, and raise, implement, close down and roll-back plans when required.
    Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware by Broadcom product line and future product direction and expert level knowledge of the core VMware product line and your specialist area.
    Must enjoy working with leading edge technology and being an intrinsic part of a fantastic team.
    Plan and lead virtualized cloud infrastructure implementations, rollouts and migrations, including hands-on implementation of VCF for enterprise customers.
    Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of cloud computing and networking applications, industry directions, and trends.

Position Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any other related field

Required certification: 
•    VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization
•    VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Deploy

Having any of the following certifications is a big plus:
•    Hold a CCNA or CCNP certification.
•    Hold VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization Design
•    Hold VMware Certified Professional – VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator
•    Hold VMware Certified Professional – VMware Cloud Foundation Architect
•    Hold VMware Certified Professional – Cloud Operations
•    Hold VMware Certified Professional – Cloud Management and Automation
•    ITIL Foundation Certification

Experience

At least 8 years of relevant experience in below:

•    Data Center Virtualization Design and Deployment.
•    Optimization of Virtualization Solutions.
•    Enterprise-Scale Infrastructure Design.
•    Security in Virtualized Environments.
•    Scalability and Robustness in Virtualization.

•    HCX
 

Required Skills:
•    Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts, with a focus on VCF, multi-cloud, and software-defined data center (SDDC) solutions.
•    Demonstrated ability and experience in customer-facing positions as a Professional Services consultant.
•    Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
•    Adaptable and progressive learner with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
•    Ability to work independently and work collaboratively in a team environment.
•    An active listener with excellent and confident communications and interpersonal skills with an ability to read complex customer situations and adapt as needed.
