Job Scope

The Specialist – Legal is accountable for providing legal support and advice to all stakeholders and participating in writing, reviewing and administering all legal documents, correspondences and contracts within set deadlines and guiding principles.

In this role you will be exposed to different areas of law such as; Civil, Labor, Corporate and Consumer Protection Law.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the company operates within the laws, ethics and integrity at all times
  • Research laws, investigate issues and assist in the reading and preparation of legal documents and various contracts minimizing risks and maximizing legal rights regionally 
  • Handle the legal process and execution of companies’ incorporation and various corporate governance tasks
  • Draft minutes of corporate and board meetings, resolutions, power of attorney and other legal documents and follow up on their review and signature
  • Liaise with external law firms and/or lawyers across the region on various legal matters and ensure that all practices, policies and business activities fall within legal boundaries under the supervision of the direct manager
  • Maintain an updated filing system and act as the custodian of legal documents
  • Maintain securely patent applications and documentation of intellectual property rights pertaining to corporate inventions and patents
  • Learn and understand corporate and legal policies and practices and protect accesses to confidential information regionally 
  • Review agreements and legal documents including but not limited to distribution agreement, supplier agreement, non-disclosure agreements, memoranda of understanding and engagement letters
  • Maintain a positive approach and constructive communication with various stakeholders
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the documentation, policies, practices and new processes of the legal department.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Law
