Job Scope
We are seeking a dedicated Resident Engineer to join our team and provide on-site technical support at a mission-critical data center facility. This role is responsible for the daily inspection, monitoring, and coordination of operations and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical infrastructure, ensuring continuous uptime and operational reliability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily walkthroughs and inspections of all data center systems, including:
Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
Power Distribution Units (PDU)
Cooling Systems (CRAC/CCU)
Monitoring and BMS systems
Leak Detection Systems (LDS)
- Log and report any abnormalities and follow up with the relevant service teams for rectification.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance (PPM/CM) with internal and external service teams.
- Respond promptly to emergency issues, perform initial inspection, and escalate when needed.
- Work closely with the IT/Network team to support hardware deployments and patching
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, leaks) and take action to mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance standards in all site activities.
- Support site audits and inspections by providing documentation and walkthrough assistance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of:
Incident logs
Equipment status
Performance reports
- Prepare daily and monthly reports on site status, issues, and actions taken.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a data center, critical infrastructure, or facility operations role.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, cooling systems, and DC/AC power distribution.
- Familiar with critical equipment operation (UPS, CRAC, PDU, BMS, etc.).
- Working knowledge of IT equipment and basic network infrastructure is a plus.
- Competent in using CMMS platforms, Microsoft Excel, and report generation tools.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for coordination with cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Strong commitment to reliability and quality of service.
Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Facility Management.
